I'd love to know how one ranger running that build can destroy an entire team solo. And "good players are going to quit"? So? What makes your money superior to that of new players? You've already paid for the game, there's no subscription fees... Quitting isn't a big threat for this game. Well, unless you're going to write them a VERY ANGRY LETTER! Then they might consider changing everything to suit your needs!

Just tried this build in RA and it worked as a halfway decent counter for it.

Not much effective. On top of that, putting attribute points in 4 attributes could be too much spreading, and putting in 3 would leave Expertise out, so and barrage is not a wise decision with low expertise.
Since it was already explained very well in this post there is nothing more to say.

It is not overpowered and should not be changed.

You would be better to run the old ranger spike team than this any day.

This is a build used by monster groups in PvE, so it can't be that unbalanced. All over Cantha you can find rit/ran groups where the rit cast splinter weapon, ranger uses barrage followed by ignite arrows/choking gas and dual shot. Nothing special there. If it's just a copy from monster groups, I don't see how it is imbalanced. Just because it beat a group quickly does not make it imbalanced. If there is no counter-build possible, then it is unbalanced. My counter was always run around until splinter weapon wore off. Bunching up is insta-death. Found that out the hard way the first time I ran into it. Play defensive for a few seconds and you should be good to go.

Ladies and Gentleman

Let's cut to the chase: the build rob posted will decimate this build. It counters our most potent threat: out bow damage. If we cannot hit, then how can we hope of winning?

Luckily, Guild Wars is a team game, and therefore we can bring teammates to help us out. I therefore suggest running this build in tandem to neutralize the threat of the above build:

[skill]Vocal Minority[/skill][skill]Signet of Disenchantment[/skill][skill]Rigor Mortis[/skill][skill]Cry of Frustration[/skill][skill]Lyssa's Aura[/skill][skill]Malaise[/skill][skill]Ignorance[/skill][skill]Resurrection Signet[/skill]

Now, Vocal Minority will shut down Shield's Up, which means that one layer of defense is strippled away. Next, Rigor Mortis stops Deflect Arrows being a thread, and also neutralizes Shield's Up if Vocal Minority is down, however, Shield's Up secondary effect will still be there and will cripple out DPS.

There's Cry of Frustration to interrupt Blinding Flash and Blinding Surge, and Ignorance will stop Glyph of Lesser Energy being used because the glyph is a signet.

Malaise is to shut down the energy of the elementalist because elementalists only have +2 regen, and Lyssa's Aura is there because the ele will notice how potent your threat is and will use Surge on you, which does ridiculous DPS. Signet of Disenchantment meanwhile removes Storm Djinn's Haste, preventing him from kiting, and also removes Attunement, which means the ele will be crippled for energy.

This Ranger build has opened up a proverbial Pandora's Box.... I'm seeing these rangers all over the place in AB and RA, and it's getting painful. It's spreading almost as bad as the Touch Ranger did when it start...and look what happened with that...

Good Lord Chicken Little! Stop the insanity and get a grip! This is not a good build and will not bring down the GW PvP as we know it.

Moko-sometimes I really question your abilites as a mod.

This is not a troll thread. Erys Vasburg brought up a valid complaint about an overpowered build and all these Philistines refuse to see the overpoweredness of it.

I shall be mentioning this to Dralspire, who I happen to know personally.

Nerf Choking Gas and Barrage. Choking Gas pretty much raped my entire spike team, and if a single Ranger can shut down 8 people by himself, that's overpowered and needs to be fixed. Barrage is just hellish damage when combined with weapon spells, so that needs nerfed too.

So, without further ado...

FIX THIS ANET! LOTS OF GOOD PLAYERS (LIKE ME) ARE GOING TO QUIT IF YOU DON'T GET IT IN GEAR!

Its so BROKEN I couldnt even quote the build on the internets without getting interupted, it took me 25 tries just to deliver this message.

The question is now, which skill needs to have exhaustion, barrage or the weapon spells. And even that wont effectively fix it because as any good player will tell you, if the ranger times Distracting shot as they are casting the spell, they can interrupt exhaustion on themselves so they will still have a full energy pool.

Also I ran this in HA just now, on the FIRST map we flawlessed them and won FOUR fame for just the 1 win on UW. Its going to make rank MEANINGLESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!

There is nothing overpowered in this build.

This build simply punishes enemies that stick together. Use Q and E to sidewalk and done. Only one of the party members may get hit by the attack.

All of the multiple hit skills there are ADJACENT range. ALL of them.
Go to the isle of the nameless and look at the Range circles to check how wide adjacent is... barely 6 metters. You can run that in less than a bow fires again. Just tell your party members to scatter.
The ranger chases the monk? Move behind a pillar or ask other part members to bodyblock so she can get out of bow range.

You can't say a build is umbalaced just becuase you don't want to move around.

hows about u get one of these rangers on your team.....just seems too logical to me. But i bet you would rather bitch about it IMO
